First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at FEI.
Software Engineer
The interview process was quite lengthy, spanning a couple of days. It involved multiple interviewers and a software test focused on programming. Following that, I had interviews with some managers, and the process concluded with a follow-up with the hiring manager.
- Can you describe your working style?
Software Engineer
I talked to like three sets of engineers. One guy showed me some C# code and wanted my thoughts on it, I basically just pointed out bugs. Another engineer asked me database questions. A third engineer asked me how I approach debugging.
- The toughest question was when the interviewer gave me a diagram I wasn't familiar with and asked me to explain what it was. I didn't do great, and I haven't seen that kind of diagram since.
- I was shown a diagram I didn't recognize and asked to interpret it. I struggled with this question and haven't encountered that type of diagram since being hired.
Customer Service Representative
It was a simple interview. They asked about the job description and my previous experience. The interviewers were very nice and the interview was informal.
- Can you tell me about your goals?
- Are you willing to take on new responsibilities and sit exams?
- What would you say are your strengths and weaknesses?
Database Developer
The first round was a technical interview that lasted about 30 minutes. The interviewer asked a couple of tough questions, but I managed to answer them well and got the offer right away.
