I applied for the Dock Manager job on FedEx's website. About two weeks later, an HR person called to chat about the role and my background. They said they'd be in touch. Two weeks after that, I got a call to schedule an interview at their facility in another state. When I got there, I met with the HR manager and assistant hub manager in a conference room. They started with some casual chat to make me feel comfortable before the interview began. The interview had about 15-20 behavioral questions, mostly starting with 'tell me the time when...'. They focused heavily on integrity, handling conflicts, risk-taking, diversity, employee privacy, and motivation. So, have stories ready for those! Afterwards, the assistant hub manager gave me a tour while we waited for the hub manager. My second interview that day was with the hub manager, and it was more about reaching goals. The whole thing took about 3 hours. They reimbursed my travel expenses. A week later, the HR manager called to set up my final interview for the next day with the Regional Operations Manager. This last interview was with a serious person asking about my personality. It's crucial not to mess up here. I went through it, but wasn't sure if I'd get the job because I think I messed up twice. A week after that, the HR manager called with a job offer. I was thrilled because FedEx SmartPost seems to have a great culture with happy employees.

I applied online and got a good boost since I'm already an employee. FedEx prefers hiring from within for this kind of role. The whole thing took about 1.5 months. First, there was a behavioral interview for about an hour, about a week after applying. It was with HR and the Logistics manager, who took notes. Then, the Logistic Coordinator showed me the job and its tough parts for about 30 minutes. The second interview was about two weeks later with the hub manager and Sr. Operations manager. They asked basic questions about software I know and my job capabilities, taking only 15-20 minutes. If you're an employee, you get paid for this time. About a week after that, I got the offer, and the drug test took another week to process.

I saw a job posting for a Parcel Assistant position and they said to call to set up a tour. I went in on Thursday, filled out an application, and got a tour. They called me the next day, Friday, to set up an interview. I had my interview the following Tuesday and got the job offer. They said they'd contact me in a couple of weeks after my background check for orientation. I got called back the following Thursday after my interview and was told I would start orientation the next Monday. It was a pretty fast process. The interview was simple, and the hiring manager was really nice and made me feel welcome.

The position process was kind of complicated, but I got through it. I was able to answer the questions, which were great questions. I look forward to this interview being looked over by your management. I'm really looking for something stable, something long term.
