First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at FedEx Custom Critical.
Customer Service Representative
I applied on the FedEx website and got a call within four hours to schedule a phone interview. The recruiter asked about my past work and some behavioral questions about my organization skills. About five minutes after that, I got another call saying they wanted me to do an in-person interview the next week. The in-person interview had one interviewer in the room and another on the phone. They asked about my previous jobs, what I liked and didn't like. After about 5 behavioral questions, they explained the job, shift times, daily tasks, and training. They asked if I had any questions. They said I'd hear back in about two weeks. After the interview, they asked if I could stay for an extra 20 minutes to sit with a current employee and listen to some calls to get a feel for the job. I accepted the offer, and the next day I got an email for my background check and drug screening.
- Tell me about a time your quick thinking helped a customer.
- Can you describe a time a customer's request was confusing to you?
- How did you handle a situation with a customer when you weren't prepared?
Sales Account Manager
It started with a phone call, where they asked me a bunch of behavioral questions. If that went well, the next step was an in-person interview with the Manager and an HR person. It was all behavioral questions again. They also wanted me to bring in a 30-60-90 day plan to show them how I thought I could succeed. After that, they let me know they would be doing a background check and I'd need to take a drug test.
- Can you describe in detail how you built your own client base and what approach you took for finding new clients?
Education Instructor
So, first I had this phone screener interview, it was with an HR recruiter, and they just asked some super general questions, you know? Then, after that, I had another interview with two people. They were from the department and asked stuff more specific to the actual job.
- Can you share an example from your experience where you demonstrated a specific skill or handled a particular situation?
- Tell me about a time in your work history when you encountered a challenge with a student.
- Describe a situation where you had to adjust your teaching approach to accommodate diverse learning needs.
Sales
I had behavioral interviews with different people in the company. They weren't very communicative after the interviews, and it seemed like they weren't sure what they were looking for. Maybe it was just for this specific role.
- What's your experience been like?
- Any general questions?
