First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Federated Hermes.
Change Manager
Worst interviewing experience ever. First round was okay, but feedback took 3 weeks. A second F2F interview was scheduled in London. Upon arrival, the staff didn't show up, so the interview was conducted over Teams. One interviewer kept bragging about their experience. After 2 weeks with no feedback from the second interview, I withdrew my application. Federated could improve by remembering it's a two-way street. They also seemed unsure when asked about their culture and ethos. Talking to recruiters suggests Federated often messes candidates around and doesn't provide feedback.
- Questions about the industry were asked.
Associate Director
The recruitment process was great and consisted of three main phases. My recruiter and an agent kept in touch throughout the entire process. In these phases, I had the chance to meet my direct manager and other important business people, which gave me a good feel for them and the company's culture and way of doing things. I also did an online psychometric test and an interview with a business psychologist. It was really helpful and confirmed that the role's requirements matched my skills. I was really impressed that they cared enough about the role to do these extra checks!

Digital Marketing Specialist
So, the interview process was pretty standard but not great with communication, a bit messy. Basically, don't expect any feedback after you put in a ton of work and time, they ghost you even in the final rounds. It started with a recruiter call, which she initially forgot but rescheduled for the same day. After that, I had to fill out a lot of paperwork. Then I waited 4 weeks and finally heard back. I had two interviews with hiring managers and one with the recruiter lined up back-to-back on the same day via Microsoft Teams (about 2.5 hours total). After waiting another 2 weeks and following up, they said I was still 'very much in consideration.' Another 5 weeks went by with no word. I sent one last email for an update, and after a week of silence, I figured I wasn't moving on. It's a bummer that a company would ghost candidates at the final stage after all the effort. I get that people are busy, but a quick rejection email takes like 30 seconds.
- Can you describe a past project and detail its outcomes?
Business Systems Analyst
I saw the previous review for the Associate BSA role and realized it was the same situation. I had two interviews, one with the hiring manager and another with the team. They both said I was a good fit, and I thought so too. But then they told me they hired someone who was a 'closer match' for what they needed. Knowing about the other review, I'm pretty sure they just hired someone internally. This job is only for internal folks, and the posting is basically a sham to collect outside applications. Don't bother applying if you're not already with the company.
