First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Fayette County Public Schools.
Paraeducator
I had a Zoom interview with two other people. It was the friendliest interview ever. It was quick and thorough. I felt like the questions were really thought out and would help the administrators figure out where to place us based on how we work with different ages. This was a group interview format.

Data Engineer
So I applied online last year and then got an email saying I needed to do a background check and send in the results. I did that and they said it was accepted. Then... nothing. It's super annoying to have to pay for this before they even decide if they want to interview you, especially for a non-teaching job. Why is this a requirement upfront?

School Bus Driver
There's no formal interview for this role. Instead, new hires go through a thorough training program and then take an internal test. You'll also undergo a detailed psychological evaluation to check your mental fitness. On top of that, there's a state test handled by the vehicle licensing department, plus a practical skills test on the actual school bus.
- What are your psychological assessments like?
- Can you pass the driving test?
- Can you demonstrate your skills on the school bus?
ELL Teacher
The interview was professional and thorough. They gave me a detailed job description and listened carefully. We talked about successful experiences in the ELL education field. I felt very comfortable during the interview.
- Can you share successful strategies you've employed with EL students previously?
- How do you handle classroom behavior issues?
