& Process

I found this job through a LinkedIn ad and they got back to me fast. We had two phone calls where I found out Farmgirl used to use a lot of outside contractors for software work, but they want to hire more people in-house now because the employees on the floor don't have many tools. After those calls, I had two onsite interviews where I met more people and saw the operation. Everyone was really open about their current problems, and I saw a lot of ways to help the arrangers, since I've worked with similar operations before. I thought they would schedule a final round after the second onsite, but they never did. After a month of no contact, I found out some of the people I interviewed with quit suddenly. I don't know the full story, but it's not a good sign when managers leave without notice. I'm upset and confused, but maybe it's for the best that they ghosted me.

The interview process kicked off with an online questionnaire. After that, I had a phone screen with HR about ten days later (I had to reach out since I hadn't heard back after submitting the questionnaire). Then, less than a week after that, I was invited for a three-hour marathon interview session where I met with each management team member for 30 minutes each. Five days after that, I had a follow-up Skype call with the two people I'd be working with most closely. Within 48 hours of that call, I found out they weren't moving forward with my application. I did appreciate the quick response and clarity on my status, which helped me look at other opportunities.

I started with a phone screen with HR, then I had two in-person interviews, one over coffee and one over dinner. The environment was very laid back and comfortable. The team was very open and transparent about their vision and expectations throughout the entire interview process. They provided interview feedback, and the whole process was a pleasant experience overall.

So the interview was like a phone screen first, then I had a face-to-face interview. The General Manager called me for the phone screen, and then for the face-to-face interview, I met with the Project Manager.
