& Process

It was a month-long process with a lot of interviews, especially for the job I was applying for. There were 2 Zoom interviews, followed by a 4-hour in-person interview block. I also had to complete a take-home assessment that took 3 hours. It felt like a waste of a month, only to be rejected. An external recruiter called me to deliver the news, which was disrespectful.

HR call with one interviewer, asked behavioral questions. Then an interview with the operation team, two interviewers, also behavioral with interesting questions. After that, an interview with the software team, two interviewers, which was technical and a bit hard. Finally, an interview with the director, one interviewer, behavioral.

So, the interview process spanned about 3 months with 8 rounds of interviews total. There was a 5-hour in-person superday and a technical take-home assessment. The people were nice, but honestly, the interview experience was super unprofessional and disorganized. HR totally ignored my other offer deadlines and would just randomly add new interview rounds, giving me really short notice. In the end, I got rejected via some automated email after they strung me along for 3 months. Also, the compensation they offered wasn't competitive at all; they act like a quant firm but don't pay like one.

First there was a quick 15 minute recruiter phone call. Then, a 30 minute Zoom tech screen with the hiring manager. The tech screen felt really limited. The hiring manager didn't seem very engaged with me as an engineer. We got straight to a coding problem because of the short time. You're supposed to walk through a solution, explain everything, and code it up really fast. The screening question was a standard data transformation problem, not specific to frontend. I explained a solution but only managed to code about 80% of it. They ghosted me after the tech screen without any feedback.
