Coding

Interviewed for a position in ATL. It felt like a ghost position because the coding assessment was super basic, like only someone who passed the recruiter screen could do it. The assessment involved sorting an array of receiver objects to find the top 5. No Leetcode, no problem solving, no questions about optimizing. I passed it, but after a week they told me I wasn't moving on without any reason, even though I met all the requirements. It really seemed like a fake job posting, and they were just interviewing people for no reason.

Behavioral Technical Coding

I went through 3 rounds: first a recruiter screen, then a discussion about my past experiences, and finally a coding round. The process was fine, but it was disappointing to find out at the end that they wouldn't move forward because my background wasn't in Java, even though I mentioned this in the first round. During the coding round, the interviewer said they didn't care about the language and just wanted to see problem-solving skills, so I'm not sure what happened. The recruiter's feedback was positive, but I didn't get an offer, and the process wasn't helpful because of the lack of valuable feedback.

System Design Behavioral Coding

So, I went through the typical HR chat and a tech screen. Then on-site, there was a system design part where I had to design old Netflix (like, mailing DVDs). After that, a behavioral chat with the manager, and a programming challenge with a LeetCode-style question. Everyone was really cool and friendly. I didn't get the offer, but the feedback was positive, so I guess it was close. I think I choked a bit on the coding part due to pressure, even though the question itself wasn't that tough. Too bad, because the team and workplace seemed pretty awesome.

Confirmed questions4 questions
  • What architectural decisions would you make when designing a system like Netflix?
  • Could you design an old version of Netflix, like the DVD mailing service?
  • Tell me about your past experiences and how you handle certain situations.

Given a list of player injuries over a 17 week period, merge overlapping injury ranges and return a list of all unique injury periods. For example, if the input is [[1,4],[2,6],[15,17]], the output should be [[1,6],[15,17]].
