Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at FanDuel.
Commercial Manager
It was a pretty standard interview process. Started with a recruiter call, then the hiring manager, and after that there were about 4 to 6 more interviews. Most of them were behavioral, checking for culture fit. They also really emphasized my past experience, but there wasn't any technical testing. The whole thing took about 3 to 4 months, and the communication from recruiting was really bad.
- What are the reasons someone might not succeed in this role, and what makes you confident you would?
Manager
The interview process was really drawn out. I was initially told it would be 3 rounds: a recruiter prescreen, an interview with the hiring manager, and then a panel interview. It took about a month just to get the recruiter prescreening call. During that call, the recruiter asked if I had other offers and if I was in final interview stages with other companies. The hiring manager interview wasn't very question-heavy; they did most of the talking and explained the next steps would be a group interview. I ended up waiting for weeks without any communication from the recruiter about scheduling that final interview. Updates from the recruiter were minimal throughout the whole thing. I eventually accepted another job offer while I was still waiting on this one.
- What would you say is your greatest strength and your greatest weakness?
- Are you currently interviewing with other companies, and if so, are you in the final stages of those processes?
Manager
So first, there was an initial phone screen. If that went well, then there was a take-home interview. After the take-home, if they liked it, I had to do an in-person case interview. The very last step was coming in person again to give a final presentation.
- Can you discuss your past work history?
