I had three interview rounds, and overall it was a good experience. The recruiters were nice and responsive, and the interviewers seemed like good people. But the end of the process was a mess. After my final interviews on Friday, I didn't hear back until the next Thursday evening when I saw a missed call from the recruiter about an update. They were going to be out the next day, so if we didn't connect Thursday, it would be the following week. I called back but only got voicemail, meaning I had to wait at least three days for the update. I wasn't feeling optimistic due to the lack of urgency. After a weekend of worrying, my fears were confirmed on Monday. The recruiter promised to get feedback from the team on why I wasn't selected, which felt like the minimum given the time and emotional investment. I thought I was done, but the next day I got another missed call and voicemail from the recruiter saying an offer was being prepared and asking about attending a tech meetup. This call was also late in the day, and in my confusion, I didn't respond that evening, leading to another anxious night. The next morning, a text apologized for calling the wrong number, which is weird because the voicemail had my name. I'm still waiting for that feedback.

The interview process had 3 levels: first a recruiter call, then a hiring manager interview, and finally a team member interview. I cleared all 3 levels and the experience was good, although I didn't get an offer. The communication was clear at each stage.

The recruiter contacted me, but it took over a month to get the interview going. I think the time between talking to a recruiter and getting a phone interview should be shorter, like a week. I had a call with the hiring manager, which was okay, but a bit strange. We talked about my experience and how they really need a data engineer. It wasn't super hard because I thought the tougher questions would be in the in-person interview. The last step was the in-person interview. Once I got to the office, I decided I didn't want the job. The office was cramped, with very little space between desks. The environment didn't seem very clean or welcoming. I also realized the in-person interview wasn't going to be the tough one I expected. There were no coding tests, just random questions about what I did in my previous job.
