It was a 1-hour interview with the hiring manager, then another with their boss, and a third with a director from another team that I would have worked with. A lot of technical questions were asked, and it wasn't really a conversation. Make sure to come ready with examples from your past experience.

The job posting was misleading, advertising a remote role with a salary of 80k-120k, but the recruiter clarified it was not remote, preferred someone in SF, and the salary cap was 110k. The process involved interviews with both executives the EA would support and another EA. After completing 4 rounds, including the initial screening, I was invited to a lunch with the executives, who gave me merch. They then ghosted me for two weeks. They only responded after I mentioned another offer, stating they weren't proceeding because it was close with another candidate but would consider me for future EA roles. A week later, they reposted the same job. When I asked the recruiter why it didn't work out, they promised a call to discuss it again, but after waiting all day and following up, I was ghosted. This was very unprofessional and cruel, especially given the current job market.

The overall interview process was good. The recruiter was very friendly and approachable, making me feel comfortable. They provided a detailed overview of the responsibilities associated with the role. The hiring manager interview was also positive, and largely consisted of deeper discussions about my background, particularly concerning A/B testing, which is a significant part of the job requiring weekly application.

HR reached out and I confirmed my interest, but then got an email saying I was no longer being considered, which was confusing. I asked HR why and apparently it was a system error, so they rescheduled the call. Then, I had a Zoom with hiring managers and the manager. After that, I was told another candidate was selected. The role was relisted weeks later, so I expressed additional interest. I scheduled a call with the hiring manager, and then had 5 ROUNDS of "panel" interviews, which was exhausting meeting so many people. I was then told they went with someone with more experience, even though they initially said they don't "compare" candidates and just offer to those they feel are right for the role. The whole process was miserable and exhaustive, and despite the company talking about empathy, I got the vibe the department struggles with it.
