Product Management Director
I had an HR screening, then a 30-min chat with the VP. After that, there were 3 interview rounds, each 45 minutes long. About 2 weeks after my last interview, I got a general rejection letter from HR. The whole thing took over 2 months.
- Can you describe your leadership style?
- Tell me about a time you managed an underperforming direct report.
- What would you consider your top three strengths?
Product Manager
Started with HR screen and a behavioral interview with the hiring manager and a peer. Then, I was given 2 take-home assignments, which isn't too surprising these days. The problem was how much they asked for. One prompt required a full PRD (under 10 pages) and a light analytics task asking for a results summary (under 3 pages). After submitting these, I got a generic rejection from the recruiter with no feedback. In hindsight, I should have skipped it. I wouldn't suggest this process to others because the time investment isn't worth the risk.
- As a PM for a manufacturing company, what enterprise tooling features would you prioritize in a draft PRD?
- Given sales and inventory data for a retail operation, can you provide a summary of findings and a recommendation in 3 pages or less?
Product Manager
So I applied and had this long chat with the recruiter. They mentioned two jobs and promised to set up chats with the managers for both. But then... nothing. Radio silence. I emailed a few times, but they just ignored me. About a month later, I got a generic email saying they'd moved on with other people. No explanation at all for ghosting me. Honestly, I wouldn't bother applying to Fanatics if I were you.
- Tell me about the most significant project you've worked on in your past role.
