First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Family Health Centers of San Diego.
Case Manager
First, I had a phone chat with the recruiter, and then I went in for an in-person interview with the hiring manager. They explained the process and it was pretty simple. I felt like they genuinely wanted to get to know me, and both interactions were very friendly.

Project Manager
First I talked to an internal HR person who vetted me and then set me up to interview with the manager. The manager interview was great and went on for over an hour. They asked specific questions which was helpful and immediately told me about the hours and dedication needed for the job.
- Are you willing to put in a lot of extra hours, including early starts and late finishes on most days?
Community Health Worker
I applied on Indeed and got contacted by a recruiter. The process includes a pre-interview screening, and then an interview. You also need to have either a personal story of having experience with resettlement as a refugee or incarceration.
- How do you rate your writing skills, and can you give an example where you showed good writing skills?
- Tell me about a time you did more than what was expected.
- What makes a good supervisor, and did you have a supervisory style you liked before?
IT Support Specialist
I interviewed for the IT Support Specialist role at Family Health Centers of San Diego. I went through two interviews, each about an hour long, where I felt I did well answering behavioral and technical questions. The second interview was kind of unprofessional though, the interviewers didn't seem ready, didn't have set questions, and it felt like they weren't really serious about hiring anyone at that point. It gave me the vibe they'd already picked someone and were just going through the motions. It's a bit of a bummer when they waste candidates' time like that, especially for an entry-level job where two interviews feels like a lot. I like when hiring is clear and professional, and this wasn't it.
- Can you describe the steps to troubleshoot a printer that's not printing?
