First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Fairstead.
Marketing Coordinator
The interview process is pretty straightforward. It starts with a quick screening, then you'll have a couple of interviews with HR and the hiring managers. After that, there might be some skill assessments and reference checks. Finally, they'll make a decision and extend a job offer.
No confirmed questions were included in this interview report.
General Manager
I interviewed at a career fair, then had two more interviews with upper management. About 3 weeks later, after a lot of following up, I got the job offer, which was worth it in the end.
- Can you describe your background and how it aligns with this role?
Office Assistant
It was a quick and easy interview process. There were 2 rounds total, with one taking place on Zoom and the other in person. They ultimately decided to go with an internal referral. I still had a good time interviewing and talking with the office manager.
- Are you able to work under pressure and be flexible?
Senior Vice President of Operations
I went through four interviews with six executives for the Senior Vice President of Operations role. It started with a recruiter, then the President of Property Management, two Asset Manager VPs, Head of HR, and Head of Marketing. While it seemed to go well initially, the follow-up was really poor. The interview with the two Asset Management VPs was super rushed; they didn't even know about it and only had like 30 minutes. I kept trying to get feedback from the Senior Recruiter but got nothing. I mentioned I had other interviews but preferred to stay local. I even stalled other job offers waiting for this company's feedback, which never came. I had to call the recruiter directly, asking for an update, and was promised a call back by the next Monday. I stalled more offers, waited until Wednesday, and still no word, so I had to leave another message and still haven't heard anything. Because I waited, I actually lost another job offer. This company needs to realize people's lives are involved; a simple courtesy email or call saying I wasn't a fit would have been professional and helped me plan. This whole thing took four weeks. All positions, especially executive ones, deserve better follow-up. It's super unprofessional and makes me question Fairstead's overall professionalism. I saw another review with the exact same issue. I'm fine with not getting the job, but being led on and then getting radio silence is the problem. I'm happy to discuss this further with senior executives.
- Were you aware that I was actively seeking employment?
- Do you know that I have 32 years of experience in Multifamily Property Management?
- Was I informed by HR that the position needed immediate filling?
