Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Fairleigh Dickinson University.
Graduate Student
I had an online interview via Zoom with the program's director. They asked a mix of set and spontaneous questions, showing genuine interest in my answers. I got immediate feedback after finishing.
- What's your motivation for choosing this program, and what distinguishes it from your prior academic experience?
Graduate Assistant
The interview was very casual and relaxed, and it gave me a really good sense of the school. I loved the campus immediately. They asked basic questions about my skills and schooling. It felt informal because it was a grad assistant role, so no need for formal attire. I really liked the vibe of the department.
- Could you tell me about your educational background?
Graduate Assistant
I applied online, but since I had a recommendation from someone who works there, I got a call pretty fast to come in for an interview. I interviewed with my future boss and the Dean. The interview was about 20 minutes, and they told me they wanted me and would be in touch soon. They called two days later with the offer.
- Tell me about a time you had to overcome an obstacle.
