First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Faherty Brand.
Store Leader
The interview process was really long, taking over six weeks and including about 6 or 7 interviews. They were all behavioral, and it felt more like they were firing questions at me really fast instead of having a conversation. I wish it had been more balanced and human. They kept saying I was doing well, and I made it to the final interview. But then, there was like a two-week silence. When I followed up, they told me they picked someone else. It felt abrupt after all the time I put in. It was also weird because the job kept getting posted again, which didn't match what they were telling me. The District Manager was great though, giving me tips on how to prepare and resources to learn about the company, which I really appreciated. Overall, I like the brand, but the whole thing felt drawn out and wasn't clear or transparent at the end.
- What strategies have you used to foster diversity, inclusion, and belonging on your team, and can you share specific examples of how you've created a more equitable and inclusive environment?
- Tell me about a time you received constructive criticism. How did you handle it, and what adjustments did you make afterward?
- How do you handle team members who are not meeting performance expectations? Can you give an instance where you provided constructive feedback to help someone improve?
Sales Leader
The interview is in two parts. First, you'll have an introductory zoom call where we'll ask about your work ethic, sales knowledge, and customer service experience. Then, there's an in-person interview where we'll focus more on your resume and the specific job, and you'll get a tour of the shop. It's a good idea to check out the company website beforehand because our hiring process and interview questions are designed to align with our company values and mission.
- Can you share an instance where you exceeded expectations to help a customer?
Visual Manager
I applied and then spoke with a screening associate over zoom, which was rescheduled from the day before. On zoom, their camera was off but we had a good talk about the role. The next day, I interviewed with the hiring manager. We talked more about the responsibilities and the company culture, which is very fast-paced and sometimes requires figuring things out as we go. I have experience with this, so I felt that was a plus. The conversation went well, and he said he'd make a decision soon and be in touch. I sent thank you emails to both. Weeks passed, and I never heard back, so I assumed I didn't get the job. It would have been professional to let me know. While the conversations were good, I didn't like the last-minute cancellation or talking to a blank screen. Respecting people's time and providing a response is important.
- Are you comfortable taking ownership of your role and responsibilities?
Assistant Designer
I went through three rounds of interviews. The first virtual interview had someone running fifteen minutes late and acting unprofessional. Then, I had a virtual meeting with someone else, which went well. After that, I was asked to do a design project that I had to present in person at their office. I met with several team members there. One of them said a decision would be made in a week, but it's been over a month and I've been completely ghosted. I've heard nothing back after spending two months waiting around and doing a project for them. I even emailed the original contact person and got no response. It was a bad experience, especially since they claim to have unique brand values.
- Can you tell me where you get your inspiration from?
- Besides sustainability, what about Faherty interests you?
