Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at FactSet.
Product Specialist
The interview process had a couple of rounds, but it was super smooth and organized. They communicated clearly and responded quickly. Things moved fast, and they made an offer right after the final round, making the whole thing efficient and professional.
- Do you have expertise in Fixed Income?
Product Specialist
It was a two-part interview process. The first part was a phone call that was mostly behavioral, asking me to talk about FactSet and the Partners product, and also about my technical skills in general. The second part was onsite in NYC, where I had to complete three tests covering math, logic, and programming within an hour. After that, I had 15 minutes to review a financial research report that had errors in spelling, grammar, formatting, and content, and point them out. Finally, there was an hour-long behavioral interview focusing on my strengths, weaknesses, and my interest in FactSet and consulting.
- Can you tell me about your top three strengths and any weaknesses you have?
- What aspects of your past jobs did you enjoy the most, and what did you dislike the most?
- Describe your favorite manager and highlight their strengths.
Product Specialist
I had a call with HR first, then a technical interview with 3 managers. After that, there was an Excel interview/test with a local manager and one from Europe. The technical interview focused on my experience relevant to the role, with fewer questions about investment/analytics data. The Excel test had about 20 questions per sheet and was manageable if you know basic to intermediate Excel formulas.
- Tell me about your experience with analytics.
