It was a 3 step process. First there was an initial screening with HR. Then, I had my first in person interview with a Senior Consultant. This involved a round table discussion with other candidates and a presentation on a topic of my choice. The third interview was a one on one with two senior consultants.

Behavioral Technical

It started with a virtual interview with HR, followed by a meeting with the US-based manager. The HR person was nice and replied quickly to emails. The manager seemed inexperienced with interviews, admitting it himself, and seemed to prefer someone who wouldn't need onboarding. He stated he didn't expect deep knowledge of equity when asking about it, but then cited a lack of equity knowledge as the reason for not getting the job. I was unhappy with this dishonest approach. The decision felt rushed, as they only responded after I followed up, suggesting they might have already picked someone.

Had a Zoom call with HR that was really friendly and welcoming, they made me feel comfortable. They just wanted to get an understanding of my interests and how they align with the role, and also what I know about finance. The group assessment was really fun, again online due to covid. I prepared a 10 min presentation to teach a skill. I taught Welsh as I knew this probably wouldn't have been done before, and it was interactive. The most important thing is that you engage the other people and get them involved. I was the only one who passed that stage out of 3 because they approached it like a lecture. The final interview was a little bit more pressure, they ask you about your CV, why the role, and what skills do you think are best fit for the role. Just research FactSet and understand their product, they have a lot of different clients that use it differently.
