I had one interview with the hiring manager. We talked about my experience and she asked for a writing sample- any type of writing sample. Shortly after the interview I received an offer for my preferred team.

This company was really unprofessional. I came from a very well-known fashion PR company and I know what a good company looks like. My first interview at Factory was with a distracted VP who rushed me, challenged everything I said, and interrupted me. They brought me in and out quickly, and I saw other people waiting. After the interview, I sent a thank you, my references, and writing samples. I didn't hear back. Weeks later, after fashion week died down, they emailed asking me to come in the next day. The interview went well, but again, I never heard back, even after sending a thank you email. This is pretty normal in the industry. I think this company is unprofessional in how they choose interviewees and also because after I emailed asking TWICE about the hiring process, they didn't even bother to reply. It was a waste of my time and energy, especially since they wanted me to come in so quickly but then didn't have the respect to get back to me. The employees at all levels were unprofessional and acted like they were superior to my previous company and too important to respond. It's a shame because it probably shows how they do business.

Sent my resume to a general email and followed up to get an interview. I had two interviews, one with the President and another with an Account Executive and the President. It was a pretty quick interview with typical questions, and both happened very casually in their showroom. I didn't get the job, but they did refer me for another interview at a different PR company.

The interview process is rough. If you plan to interview, be prepared to just list the names of people you've worked with. Turnover is really high here, so the person they're interviewing doesn't really matter as much as their network, so just focus on listing names.
