The interview process, especially the technical screening, felt like it was designed to underestimate the experience of the candidate pool and to justify offering a lower rank or salary. The technical questions should match that level of complexity, and the pay needs to be aligned with the current market rate for that seniority. My interview at EY was actually pretty relaxed overall. The vibe was much more laid-back than I thought it would be for a big firm. The interviewer was friendly and really tried to make me feel comfortable from the beginning. Most of the questions felt more like a chat than a strict test — they asked about my experiences, why I’m interested in EY, and how I deal with teamwork and problem-solving.

Applied online, then moved on to do the online assessments, and got a phone call from talent acquisition 1-2 months later to come in for an interview. Went to the interview 1 week later. Did a 5 min presentation, answered behavioural questions and asked a prepared question to the interviewers: total time was 1hr 15mins. Got the offer the same day as the interview.
