First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Extraco Banks.
Business Intelligence Administrator
Even though it was an entry-level position, I thought the interview process was surprisingly long and not very efficient. I had to schedule the first interview about a month out. After that, I heard from them a week later to schedule the second interview, which happened 11 days after that. Then, I had a two-hour third interview and had to give them 10 references, who all got contacted. They said I'd hear about an offer by the end of the next week, but I just got an automated rejection email. The whole thing took about two months, with many hours of interviews and a lot of effort from my references. I was pretty unhappy with how they communicated and the overall experience.
- What qualities do you seek in a manager?
Relationship Banker
This was a long interview process. It usually involves 2-3 interviews. You start with an initial video interview, and then have two in-person interviews. The process is pretty straightforward, but it can take a while for them to decide if you're a good fit. They won't guarantee anything until they make an offer, so keep that in mind if you have another offer on the table.
- Could you share an instance where you had a difficult manager?
Relationship Banker
It took almost 3 months to get through all 4 interviews after applying. The first was a phone call with HR to see if I was a good fit and to learn about the job. Then I had a 'get to know you' interview with 3 managers, which was pretty much the same as the HR one. After that, I had an interview with the managers asking situational questions. The last interview was a role play scenario that lasted about 30 minutes. My 2nd and 3rd interviews were actually done at the same time. The whole process was a bit long, but everyone was nice and professional, and they responded pretty quickly if I had any questions.
- Can you share three weaknesses you possess?
Relationship Banker
It's a thorough process that really digs into whether the role and the company are a good fit for you, and vice versa. You might have up to three interviews. Expect a panel interview where they'll ask the usual kinds of questions. My advice is to just be yourself, be confident, and be honest. In most situations, there isn't really a 'right' or 'wrong' answer.
- Can you tell me about a time you had a difficult relationship with a past or present manager?
