Marketing
HR reached out for a phone interview. The questions were writing-focused, and the role was even called a "writer" at one point. They didn't seem too interested in social media, even though that's part of the job. I guess they were more looking for a writer than a social media person. They really emphasized the company culture, which made me a bit suspicious, haha. I had to ask if I could ask questions because they almost rushed me off the phone. Everyone was really nice and easy to talk to, and it probably is a great place to work based on the people. It just wasn't a good fit for either of us.
- How would you approach creating content tailored for specific target audiences?
Engineering Manager
The recruiter reached out to me first, and we had an initial phone chat. Then, I went in person to meet with the engineering team leads and the hiring manager. They asked about my background and times I'd dealt with engineering issues. After that first in-person part, I came back to chat with the other team leads. We also discussed the teams' past and how I could support the company's goals. It was a mix of technical and behavioral questions. A big focus was meeting everyone, getting the team vibe, seeing if I'd fit in with the team members, and how my past work could benefit the company. Following the in-person interviews, I had a couple of extra questions, and the recruiter and hiring manager were quick to reply. A few days after the last in-person meeting, they made an offer, and I had plenty of time to decide. All in all, it was a good and smooth interview process. The recruiter and hiring manager were flexible with scheduling and patient with all my questions.
- How do you foster innovation within your development teams?
- Could you outline your plan for the first 90 days?
Software Development Test Engineer
I got in touch with Extensis by reaching out to HR initially, as I didn't see any openings but had heard good things about the company culture. Being a recent grad on the east coast, all pre-interview chats were via email. The hardest part was actually kicking off the interview process itself; it took about a month from when a role opened up to when I was contacted to start, with not much info in between. But once it got going, they were great at moving me through it smoothly and transparently. Everyone I spoke with was really honest and welcoming. They did a 'live' coding exercise where I had to solve a problem in 30 minutes, using any programming language I preferred. This was different from the usual in-person format because I was on the east coast.
- Can you provide an NDA?
Sales Development Representative
The process kicked off with a phone screening to check if you can professionally and clearly communicate your thoughts, skills, and abilities. Then, there were in-person interviews where I met with four people. We went over my resume, and they decided if I was a good fit based on my answers and how I presented myself. It was a good experience, and they moved me to the next stage quickly (the day after for me).
- How will your degree assist you in this role?
- Can you elaborate on your past job experiences as listed on your resume?
