First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Extend, Inc..
Data Scientist
Hiring manager interview first, then a take-home assessment, followed by a 2-hour virtual onsite. The onsite had 4 interviews: a technical one with a data scientist, a behavioral one with the Senior VP of Data Science, another behavioral one with a data manager, and a collaboration interview with a key stakeholder.
- Did you spot any unusual patterns or issues in the data?
- Could you determine the attach rate, both generally and for each merchant?
- Based on your findings, what suggestions do you have?
Technical Account Manager
The interview process took a while but was pretty straightforward. It started with a hiring manager screen, then I met with three team members who covered different aspects of the role. The final stage was a presentation based on a case study. They even offered to give good, honest feedback, which is rare these days. I really enjoyed working with them.

Brand Development Associate
This was a complete waste of my time. I went through an interview process with this company for over a month. It started with a phone interview, then a hiring manager interview, followed by a writing assignment, and finally a 5-person panel interview. When I asked the hiring manager if there was anything on my resume that would make them hesitant to hire me, she explicitly said no. She confirmed that nothing on my resume indicated an inability to perform the job. However, when it came time for a decision, she rejected me, stating I didn't have enough 'experience.' This is contradictory because she had already reviewed my resume and found no issues. It makes me wonder why they would waste my time for a month if this was going to be the deciding factor, especially when they could have been upfront about it from the start. It felt like they strung me along for a month knowing they had no intention of hiring me.
- Can you tell me about yourself?
- Were you hesitant about anything on my resume?
Business Development Associate
I applied online and then had a Zoom interview with the head of the team. It was okay, the interviewer seemed a bit disorganized and distracted, but they had great insight into the company and the role. The next step was a technical assignment. I submitted it and then heard nothing back for two weeks, even after reaching out twice. I found out they had decided to move forward with another candidate. It was frustrating because I invested time in interviewing and completing the assignment, but they couldn't take the time to respond or provide feedback.
