Revenue Operations Analyst
Applied through Indeed. Had a phone interview not long after applying, and then a virtual interview with the manager I would report to. When I logged in for the interview, it was with someone else, but the manager did join shortly after. The vibe was pretty chill, but when I asked about the work culture, they said it was 'always changing' with a nervous laugh. Then I had to do an Excel assessment that took around 1.5-2 hours. It wasn't super difficult, but some of the questions were a bit unclear. After that, I had another interview with a different manager, which was odd since I wouldn't have been working on his team. This interview felt really awkward, and he seemed uninterested from the beginning. A few days after this interview, I got a rejection email. They mentioned they were looking to hire 3-4 people for this role in the coming months, but it honestly felt like they were just interviewing people for practice and didn't actually need to fill the positions.

Course Operations Associate
I found the Course Operations Associate job on LinkedIn and applied. ExecOnline's recruiting is currently handled by one person. I got a response in under two weeks. First, I had a 30-minute call with the recruiter, then a 30-minute video chat with the senior VP of Product and Operations. After a bit of a wait, during which the recruiter kept me updated via email and phone, I learned that a new position on her team had opened up. I was informed I didn't get the original role but then had a video interview for the new one. Overall, I feel good about the process and am excited to see the company grow.

Senior Program Associate
I was contacted by the recruiting team via LinkedIn. They thought I would be a good fit for the role. They were super friendly and professional, and I quickly was set up with a phone screening interview with HR, the typical "tell me about yourself" type of interview. This was followed by a video conference interview with the hiring manager, which gave me a more in-depth understanding of the company and the position. I was then invited to the office for a "marathon-style" interview, where I met with various senior-level management over about 2-2.5 hours, ending with the CEO. I also was required to complete a skills test/exercise that would be relevant to the role. I was really nervous for this piece, as it wasn't something you could really prepare for and was a true test to see if you'd be a good fit for the role. It involved an Excel exercise followed by a discussion of my initial feedback on how I think I could improve the process based off of the exercise. The ending conversation was with the hiring manager, and it was very interactive and gave me a view into how she manages, which was great to get a first-hand picture of. I really felt like they vetted me throughout the interview process, which I appreciated--it shows they care about the hiring process. The company is still small enough that they can take the time to screen each candidate to ensure that they're a good fit for the job, and more importantly, the growth of the company. I was impressed with everyone that I interviewed with--everyone is extremely well educated and comes from a diverse background of industries. I was impressed with how organized everything was, and it was also a pretty quick process. The culture of a company is important to me--I had the feeling right away that this was a tight-knit crew. It felt like everyone wanted to see me succeed, and people even gave me interview tips on how to do well with each person along the way.
- Can you tell me about a time you improved a process or procedure, and explain how you accomplished it?
- Tell me about the Excel exercise you were given and your thoughts on how to improve the process after completing it.
Director of Sales
Had one round with HR first which went well. Then they immediately scheduled a panel of interviews for 2 or 3 hours in a row (had to take PTO with my current employer). Then they wanted me to schedule another interview with another Manager for 30 min. All interviews went well, but they would stop the conversations very abruptly within their time limit (probably because they had other candidates to interview on the same conference line), so there wasn't always a lot of time left to ask all the questions I wanted. Nonetheless, after 5 rounds of interviews very close to one another, I never heard back from anyone after that. After 3 weeks, I emailed the HR asking for feedback , but all I heard back was crickets. This speaks volume about this company in my opinion. At the end of the day, I pursued other opportunities, but the least a company can do after so many interviews and out of respect for a candidate's time is to have the decency to let them know about the status of their application or at least respond when a candidate sends a follow up note. Very rude!
