The interview will be conducted via Teams with an administrator and your direct supervisor (either the Dept chair of Sped or HR personnel). They'll ask straightforward questions about your experience, skills, and future aspirations. Be prepared for some behavioral questions, so remember to use the STAR method. They're also interested in hearing why you're specifically drawn to this school.

Basically you apply, then you have this actual interview with the principals and stuff. Then you have to do like a demo lesson to show them how you teach. After that, you talk about your ideas on education, how you'd manage a classroom, and how you get students involved.

The hiring process is pretty smooth and communication is great. They usually move between stages in about a week or two. There's a teaching sample and a school tour involved. It's not an overly long process. Make sure to talk about diversity and inclusion. They also assign some reading material that you'll need to discuss.

The interview process with Excel was very thorough. I started with an initial interview with the Director of Talent, who was very professional. In less than a day, the Head of School contacted me to set up a second interview. They were very accommodating to my situation, as I'm currently living abroad. This interview involved speaking with multiple team members, all of whom were open and authentic. They asked insightful questions and described the role in detail, which helped me envision myself in the position. The interview also featured a thought-provoking case study that allowed me to demonstrate my expertise and abilities. Following the interview, several team members reached out with more positive feedback and encouragement. The entire experience was a good challenge!
