First, there was a coding challenge where you had to generate values that produce sha hashes with 9 leading zeros. If that went well, the next step was a meeting with the Exasol India manager to go over what to expect from the upcoming tests. Then came a proctored coding test, which was based on your experience level, so definitely practice leetcode. After that, there was an HR manager coding test, which was pretty similar to the previous one. Then, you had an interview with the team manager to chat about the company and your expectations, and maybe they threw in some technical questions too. Following that was the team interview, which was all about seeing if you'd be a good fit for the team. Lastly, there was an HR interview, mainly to discuss the offer letter and expectations.

My interview for Core Database Engineers involved a coding challenge first, submitted on their server. After that, I had an online MCQ test, and then a meeting with the hiring manager which mostly involved technical questions. This was followed by a technical round where I was asked a couple of DSA questions, which I successfully resolved by clearing all test cases. Unfortunately, they unnecessarily scheduled interviews for two roles simultaneously, causing confusion. The other role had specific Linux requirements that I couldn't meet, leading them to withdraw from consideration for the Core-DB Engineer role as well, despite my qualifications. This whole situation occurred over a month, so be cautious before investing your time, as it might be rerouted to other roles where your time and skills are better valued.

Behavioral Technical

It was a fairly lengthy process with 4 interviews, which seems like a lot even though the position isn't super technical. They were pretty good about replying to emails, but even with all the good feedback, they seemed to struggle with making a decision and ended up extending the process while considering other candidates.

A recruiter set up an interview for me for the Senior Sales Engineer role. The interview was scheduled for 1 hour during the workday and ended up being 75 minutes long. The hiring manager, based in Germany, just assumed I was available to continue, without checking if I was okay with it. He mentioned that he spends most of his time interviewing and seemed surprised they hadn't hired anyone for this position yet. The interview itself was pretty generic, with a good discussion, but when I asked the manager about the company, I didn't get a satisfying answer. It's been 3 weeks and I haven't heard back. While I can accept that they decided not to move forward with me, it's frustrating to have my time wasted for 75 minutes and then receive no response.
