It was a super chill and quick interview process. First, I had a video chat with the director, and then I did an in-person group interview with some of my potential colleagues. I liked the interview process because it felt like a two-way street, giving me a chance to decide if this was the right place for me just as much as they were checking me out.

I applied online and then got an email to schedule a first call. It was a quick half hour chat about my background and skills. After that, I was invited to the Kingston office for another interview with Jeff and the team. They created a really comfortable and casual vibe, more like a chat than an interrogation. The office seemed pretty laid-back and a good place to be. They got back to me about a week later. Even though I didn't get an offer, the people I met during the process made it a really good experience.

This company is growing and needs a competent leader for interviews, or at least someone who knows basic law and what not to ask. The department head apparently doesn't know basic math and asked illegal questions. The office itself is messy and old, probably hasn't been cleaned or updated since the 90s. They use whiteboards but have no working markers. The equipment is bad, and everything is dirty and disorganized. No parking available. Also, it seemed like a diversity-free zone, with only male software engineers present. The whole operation feels low-class and sub-standard.
