Behavioral Presentation

The interview process was in three parts: a phone call, an online interview, and then an in-person interview with a presentation. The phone and online interviews were manageable if I did my homework on the company and the role. I really enjoyed the presentation part, but it was a long three-hour drive and they didn't cover expenses.

Behavioral Technical

I applied through a recruitment agency. The first interview was on Teams, meant to be a casual chat to get to know each other. They told me the interviewer really liked candidates who researched the company a lot and made an extra effort to explain why they wanted to work there. The interview seemed to go really well, and I left with a positive feeling. I thought I'd answered all their questions thoroughly, expressed my interest in the company, and shown the research I'd done. I also asked good questions about the role and company at the end. A few days later, I was told I wasn't selected for a second interview. Which is fine, but the reason given was that I talked too much about the company. Everything I said was relevant to the company's structure, operations, and the role. And I didn't talk about my achievements, even though they didn't ask about them! I did mention my experience and how it would benefit me in the role. When asked what they looked for in a candidate, the recruiting manager said, 'I can't explain what I'm looking for, but I'll know when I meet the right person.'

Group Presentation Behavioral

I got to the assessment centre. There was a group task where we had to solve a puzzle with 8 people. We also had to do a presentation about a made-up company's performance using financial data that changed just before we presented. Then there was an interview where they asked more about who I am, what I know about the company, and why I want to work there.

Behavioral Technical Coding

I first spoke with a recruiter, then had a 1st stage with the direct report. After that, I was given a tech stage through a GitHub repository. The final round was about discussing the solution, but it was with someone who wasn't a developer and seemed to be helping with recruitment. This person was quite antagonistic at the start, making me wonder if it was part of a test. They fixated on and nitpicked things that weren't even part of the solution, then abruptly ended the interview with an excuse. It was a complete 180 from the previous rounds and gave a really toxic impression of engineering at Evri.
