First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Evolve IP.
Partner Account Manager
The Director conducting the interview was late and disorganized. I took annual leave for this remote interview. I joined 5 minutes early, having prepped a lot for this high-profile position for Evolve IP. At 10 minutes past the hour, the Director hadn't joined. I messaged to ask if it was still a good time or if we should reschedule. No reply until 20 minutes in. They apologized, said they were at an event, and would be with me in 2 minutes. I waited another 10 minutes. At 35 minutes in, I messaged again for an update. No reply until I left after 40 minutes. After I confirmed I left, they messaged immediately asking to continue and that they would be with me shortly. I declined, and also declined to reschedule. There's too much wrong to explain. First impressions matter: organize your diary and communicate well. Respect people's time. I can only imagine what it's like inside if this is how you treat potential hires.
- No questions were asked because the interviewer did not attend.
Help Desk Technician
First interview with recruiter went extremely well super casual. Then a technical with potential co-worker that went extremely well laid back, if you know your stuff won't be an issue. But the next 2 interviews feel super formal and uptight, those are with higher leadership. Interview with the culture fit approver alone would have put me off. There was no approachability in the interview.
- Can you explain DHCP?
- What is a VLAN?
- What is a Firewall?
Technical Support Specialist
The whole thing went pretty well. I found the job on a job board and the manager reached out about an in-person interview, which we scheduled. I met with two people from the company. The Director talked about the job and how they're big on teamwork, which was a nice change from my last job. They asked about my experience with their platforms and had me rate my knowledge of software, hardware, and networking. I was really excited about this role because their work aligns with what I'm passionate about. They ended up choosing another candidate, but I'm hopeful we can connect again in the future.
- On a scale of 1 to 3, with 1 being the best, how would you rate your expertise with software, hardware, and networking?
Site Reliability Engineer
I applied for the SRE role via LinkedIn. After Eryn A reached out, we set up a call. We covered company info, the role, and some quick tech screening questions. There was a bit of a wait for approval due to a noncompete, but then Eryn guided me through the rest of the rounds. The first round had three Senior SREs where we did technical questions, discussions, and thought process mapping. The second round was with the SR Department Director, which went well, with more open-ended questions about hypotheticals, scaling, and troubleshooting. The final round involved talking to two Software Architects/Developers about my tech stack experience and how I'd handle certain scenarios they presented. The whole process felt thorough, engaging, and mentally challenging in a good way. Eryn was amazing at coordinating everything, keeping me updated, and making it a great experience. I really enjoyed talking to everyone involved.
- Can you tell me about the tools you've selected for your CI/CD pipeline and the reasoning behind those choices?
