It started with a screening call by HR (Alejandro). It was a pleasant conversation where basic firm and job background was shared. Next, I interviewed with the hiring manager. This interview had a good focus on the role and cultural fit. They seemed very enthused and moved me forward. Then, multiple interviews followed with teams that consisted of a panel interview. Overall, the interactions were pleasant. In total, there were 4 rounds of interviews over 3 weeks. After that, I was ghosted. I followed up with an email and never received a reply.

The recruiter reached out to me on LinkedIn, and we had an initial screening call. The next step was a conversation with the hiring manager, followed by an interview with an engineer on the team. These first two stages wrapped up in about a week and a half. After the holidays, I received information about the subsequent steps.

Behavioral Technical Presentation

I applied to eVisit via LinkedIn and was contacted by a recruiter a few days later. After a quick review of my resume, I was told I was exactly who they were looking for. I was excited but still worried about the negative online reviews about layoffs and lack of sales. The recruiter explained that eVisit still considers itself a startup and that while many reviews were true, things were changing with new senior leadership, and they were finally getting new clients and needed people to manage growth. It was a red flag that they hadn't grown during the pandemic when other telehealth companies did. I wanted to believe them. What followed was a 2.5-month process of interviews and a scenario workshop. I kept getting told things were going great, then it would go quiet for weeks, and I'd have to follow up to get another interview scheduled. Interviews were always rescheduled. I was told there were multiple openings, I was a frontrunner, and to just be patient. In the end, I was told other applicants were selected. The job I applied for stayed open for months even after supposedly being filled. It's clear this is how eVisit operates. Job posts stay open, interviews happen, but no new hires are announced. They seem like a company circling the drain hoping for an acquisition. Don't waste your time. The bad press is probably deserved. I wish I'd paid more attention.

Behavioral Technical Presentation Other

This company appears to be using the hiring process to boost employee morale and retain current staff during layoffs, rather than genuinely looking to fill positions. The interview process took over two months, involving eight different people. Meetings were often postponed by weeks, showing a lack of urgency. I was repeatedly told I was the top candidate after the sixth interview. The final interview was supposed to be 45 minutes with the CEO, but started late with the CEO saying they only had 30 minutes and wanted to keep it casual. They asked only three questions: a resume walkthrough, why I wanted to work there, and my opinion on their website's messaging. It felt like they weren't actually assessing me and that the CEO's decision would override the hiring manager. A week later, I learned the CEO decided against all three final candidates and wanted to restart the hiring process. While CEOs can have different views, the CEO's disinterest and time constraints during the interview suggested no real intention to hire for the role. It's also known these positions have been open for a long time with many candidates going through the process. Given other reviews and the company's lack of new business, there's a clear pattern of manipulation. Don't waste your time.
