I applied for a sales role and got an email late the night before confirming my first call with a recruiter for 10am the next day. When I got the call, it was actually with the hiring manager and we had a great conversation, so they set up a second interview. I thought that one went well too, and they said they'd let me know by the end of Friday. I got an email on Monday saying they weren't moving forward, which was a bummer since I felt like both chats went pretty well. They sent a standard template saying they chose other candidates but didn't give any real details. I emailed asking for more specifics and waited about a week with no reply. I sent a second follow-up email and still haven't heard back. I think it's super unprofessional for a company to schedule a call for 10am the day after emailing you at 9pm the night before, and then to ghost my emails.

Behavioral

Had a bunch of interviews with individual contributors and managers on the sales team. All the questions were pretty standard, asking about times or situations that showed off their company values. It was kind of a bummer because most of the people I talked to seemed really robotic and unenthusiastic, especially for a sales role. They didn't seem to be able to have a real conversation about the job. I get what they were going for, but it didn't feel very welcoming. And to top it off, I never heard back after the last interview.

I’ve applied twice to Everlaw and gotten rejected without any useful feedback. I’ve gotten offers from other companies but I really wanted to work at Everlaw because of the location and the potential to grow supporting a product that’s truly useful. They’ve invited me for interviews multiple times, which makes me wonder why they keep rejecting me at the second stage, after asking me to write sample sales messages. I would have put in the work to improve if they had just told me what to focus on. It’s disappointing they invited me back just to reject me again. I wish I could have learned and grown there. The weirdest part is they keep posting the same job I applied for, even though I’m ready to go. Are they having trouble keeping sales staff?

Your experience may differ based on the interviewer's style, whether they prefer a structured or more flexible conversation. The SVP, described as a 'surfer dude,' seemed unprepared and resorted to reading generic, immature situational questions that they appeared to encounter for the first time, delivering them awkwardly and without consideration. Where are the truly innovative companies with solutions the industry actually needs? These folks seem focused on making a quick profit. Avoid them.
