- ¿Cuál es tu visión de tu carrera profesional para los próximos 5 años?
Junior Consultant
I got my CV through a university job fair and got called within a week for a "Selection Process" later that week. The whole event was run by psychologists with no technical knowledge of the company, so no technical questions were expected. It was mainly a big group exercise to gauge how people behave under pressure and work in a team on a time-constrained project about a topic we knew nothing about (a marketing proposal for an IT job). There was also a Q&A about the company, which reinforced the impression that the interviewers didn't know the day-to-day work, and an awkward attempt to justify the company's reputation for unpaid overtime. They explicitly stated that they hire engineers from unrelated fields and train them in C/Java because finding skilled IT engineers is difficult due to their pay expectations. They also explained that if your team fails, everyone gets blamed, making career advancement dependent on team performance and company-wide pay increases. The second to last part was a one-on-one with a psychologist with some strange questions, and the final part was a phone call with the local manager, which was the only interview with technical questions (basic ones like C++ vs Java differences).
- Given your language skills, would you accept an offer to work internationally?
- Would you leave our company if offered a position in your original engineering field?
- How would you handle a team member who isn't pulling their weight?
