Sales Executive
Had some Zoom calls with nice people who asked me about my past experiences and why I'd be a good fit for the job. They also talked about what it's like to work here day-to-day. There were about 4 online interview stages in total.
- What makes you suitable for this position?
Sales Manager
I was referred by a former colleague who was my mentor. The process included a phone screen, a personality test, and a culture fit assessment. I then had to give a presentation about my sales management strategies and game plan. Before accepting, I was able to meet the sales team and the manager I would be succeeding. The in-person interview and presentation were with the founders and the director of sales.
- What management style attributes have led to past successes, and who are your role models?
- Attributes of management style that led to former successes, and who are my role models?
Customer Success Manager
Had a phone interview, then an in-person interview, followed by a lunch with the team. It was pretty intimidating sitting in an interview eating lunch with 7 people peppering you with questions. I had a great time, and I thought I did very well. One of the guys who was interviewing me and asking repeated questions turned out to be the internal hire that took the role I was there for. Not sure I think that's a good (or fair) business practice. I got really excited when they sent me an email, and I responded with a typo. I think this might have been the reason I didn't get the position, which is pretty strange if you ask me. But I understand that's a concerning sign. I just would never disqualify someone based on a simple mistake.
- Can you share some of your experiences from previous roles?
Business Analyst
Had a quick 30-min video chat. We went over what the job involves, what the company is like, and pay. Then they asked me some questions about my past work with data analytics.
- Do you have experience with Excel?
