A recruiter from EverCommerce reached out to me on LinkedIn about an EA opening. I applied via their website and also sent my resume to the recruiter. The first interview was with the recruiter. Then, I was scheduled for another interview with an EverCommerce employee. However, this person didn't show up for the Zoom call. Instead, the recruiter appeared to inform me that they had chosen a different candidate. It felt like a complete waste of my time because they contacted me, I went through an interview, and then had another scheduled interview where the person didn't even show up. I was ready for that interview and it was a no-show. I really dislike the uncertainty in today's work environment. People's time should be respected more. I strongly advise others to be cautious about applying to this company.

A recruiter reached out to me about a Director position because my background was a strong fit. A 30-minute video call was set up, which went very well. Soon after, I was scheduled for a 1-hour interview with the hiring manager, which was a great interview. A week or so went by, then an email stated they're still interviewing but I was "very much" interested and they'll be in touch soon. Two more weeks went by and then an automated email saying others matched the job better and I'm not moving forward. I mean, that's fine - but why dangle the carrot and then send me an automated email? Companies need to respect people's time and interest and at least send a personal note with some reason of a rejection. Of course, if it's ageism or sexism, which I'm finding a lot lately, then the automated email plays it safe.

I went through the whole interview process for the Salesforce Admin job at EverCommerce. The interviewers were nice, but the process itself was a mess. Communication was all over the place, timelines kept changing without anyone telling me, and I finally got a generic, impersonal rejection after waiting for weeks. As someone experienced with Salesforce, I thought it was unprofessional and showed poor internal organization. People who spend a lot of time preparing deserve to know what's going on, get updates on time, and be treated with basic respect. EverCommerce should really look at how they hire and talk to candidates. If you're applying, know that it can take a long time and be disorganized, even if you make it to the end.

Behavioral Presentation

So, the interview process started with a phone screen from the recruiter, then a call with the hiring manager. After that, there was a homework assignment which involved a presentation, and finally, I met with the department head. It was pretty standard, though it was a bit unusual that the hiring manager handled scheduling more than the recruiter, but no big deal. Everyone I spoke with was genuinely nice and friendly. The salary listed in the job description seemed low, and they acknowledged it was a lowball offer. However, the benefits are good, especially the 401k matching. I found their business strategy of acquiring many smaller companies a bit strange, wondering if they're aiming to be a conglomerate. Given they're leaning towards being a large company, they might not be the most welcoming to people with startup experience or a startup mindset. While everyone was personally very nice, their policies don't seem entirely employee-centric.
