First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Eventide Asset Management.
Research Analyst
The interview process was shared with me to happen in four stages. I only interviewed during the first round, which was a 30-minute screening Zoom call with a team member from HR. The team member shared an overview about the company's origin story and their current priorities, as well as team culture and the expectations for the Research Analyst position for which I was interviewing. I expected them to ask about my own career journey and interest in the role, which they did, but I was unprepared for the more generalized - rather than role-specific - questions about staying organized or receiving constructive feedback. If candidates are well prepared for these more HR-type interview questions, then they will be ready for this round.
- Tell me about your interest in this company.
- How do you manage to stay organized?
- Describe a time when you received constructive feedback and how you handled it.
Executive Assistant
I first reached out to the company via their website. My initial contact was with the HR Director. After that, I had a meeting with someone who acted as a culture-fit/history gatekeeper. The next step involved meeting the person I would be supporting. Finally, I had an interview with the CEO. The HR Director was my main point of contact and kept me updated throughout the entire process.
- Which of the company's core values do you connect with the most?
Office Administrator
The interview process was pretty thorough, with four stages. You get to meet with important people like HR, the head of HR and values, your direct manager, and the CEO. While I liked how dedicated they were to their mission and making a positive impact, the process really focused a lot on the company's Christian mission. It got a bit much and felt repetitive. The second interview was all about the mission and values, not really the job itself, which was confusing. I was told by the recruiter that my connection to the mission wasn't as strong as others. It would have been great to get direct feedback instead of through the recruiter, but I get that with so many applicants, it's tough. Overall, they're really committed to their mission, but be ready for a heavy emphasis on values and Christian alignment, which might not be for everyone.
- How do you connect with our mission and values?
- What is your understanding of our mission and values and how do you align with them?
- Can you describe your alignment with our company's mission and values?
Analyst
The process was very qualitative. Not much guidance was given. I was not informed I was pitching a stock until 6 days before. The people were very nice, but they have a strict investing philosophy. I built out a DCF and did a relative valuation, but I think it was irrelevant. They seem to only care about assessing the values of companies.
- Presentation
- Opinion on the values of companies
