This was a really weird interview process. I'd be careful interviewing at Eventbrite. If their product development is anything like their interview process, watch out for red flags. They gave me a verbal offer during the interviews but then backed out three weeks later because they took forever to send a written offer. I had an on-site interview at their Nashville office with a Senior PM and an engineering lead. Then I had remote interviews with four product leaders in their SF office. After that, they gave me a homework assignment that took over 4 hours because they couldn't decide. Eventbrite then gave me a verbal offer. After that, they started dragging their feet. I'm not sure if it was miscommunication with the recruiter (who was pretty bad the whole time, like texting on a Friday at 7pm saying they'd call Monday with no context), or what. Then they were unresponsive for two weeks before I heard they changed their minds and weren't offering me the job anymore. The whole interview process was super unprofessional and disorganized. The product and tech teams in Nashville might be good, but Eventbrite isn't one of them. A verbal offer getting pulled is pretty bad.

After submitting my resume online, I was quickly contacted for a 30-minute phone screen with a Product Manager. A couple of days later, I was invited for an in-person interview that was scheduled two weeks out. This interview consisted of meeting six people over four hours. In preparation for the on-site, I was asked to create a 30-minute presentation on a potential feature or app, with a suggested 3-hour prep time. The actual on-site was mostly via video call, which felt a bit strange since I only met one person who was physically in the office. Despite that, everyone I spoke with was really nice and asked great questions, and there was a good mix of roles represented. Unfortunately, I didn't receive an offer due to a perceived lack of experience, which is fair given I'm new to product management. I felt they might have known this earlier, as the feedback was quite general. Overall, it seems like a great company, and I appreciate the opportunity.

So I actually applied for a different role first, but they had already filled it. Luckily, on the phone call, they let me know about a new opening in the Product group that turned out to be a much better fit! After that initial chat, I had an onsite interview where I met with a bunch of people from both the Product and Engineering teams.
