Customer Experience Representative
I applied online and right away got this at-home test. It had like 3+ emails to answer, acting as the Customer Experience Rep, using their website to find info on event packages and doing some math. It took way longer than the 20 mins they said. About a week later, they wanted to schedule a phone interview. That included a 10-minute test where I had to simulate situations as the Customer Experience Rep. It was tough because they expect you to know their system without any training. You really have to just spend time on their website learning everything beforehand. Then, a few days later, I had to schedule an in-person interview at their office. It was supposed to be with 4 people and last 2 hours, but it ended up being about a week later. The office felt a bit disorganized when I checked in and out, and the interview schedule they sent changed the day of. I only spoke with 3 people, and they all asked the same questions, then answered mine. They mostly made me feel comfortable though. It was awkward leaving because they wouldn't tell me when I'd hear back, which I guess was a hint. I waited almost 2 weeks, then emailed them about the job status, and the same day, they called to say I didn't get it. They said they'd keep my application on file because I was up against strong candidates and enjoyed meeting me. I think that's just a courtesy, but at least they were polite.
- Why do you want to work for Eventbrite?
- What was the biggest failure you’ve had to overcome?
Customer Experience Representative
I interviewed at Eventbrite Cork in November 2019. First, there was a phone screening with the manager and a CX associate. They asked me some behavioral questions and why I wanted to work for Eventbrite. The next round was a two-hour on-site interview with five people: two managers, a team member, a junior account manager, and the recruiter. The managers were really nice and made me feel comfortable. They interviewed me like a casual chat about my work experience and hobbies. Then I interviewed with the junior account manager. This was a much shorter interview, under 10 minutes. She had a list of questions on her computer about how I'd interact in a team to see if I'd fit in. She read the questions and typed my answers without looking at me. The last interview was with the recruiter via Skype. She asked a few questions, plus about my availability and expectations. Since one of the interviewers was sick, my interview had to end early. The recruiter said she'd email one of the managers to escort me out. I waited in the room for 25 minutes, but no one came. I went to the reception desk, but no one was there, and there was no bell to call someone. I had to leave without signing out. Overall, my interview experience with Eventbrite was quite disappointing.
- Why are you interested in Eventbrite?
- In your own words, what is customer service?
- How would you resolve a conflict with a coworker?
Customer Experience Representative
This was the first interview step over the phone. We started with about five minutes of casual chat where I introduced myself. Then, I was asked to share an example of a time I delivered great customer service. After that, the interviewer role-played as a confused customer and asked me three questions about using the system. The interviewer advised preparing by setting up an event beforehand and being very descriptive and visual. The whole experience was pleasant, with a positive and approachable interviewer.
- Can you describe an instance where you delivered exceptional customer service?
