Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at European Space Agency.
Software Engineer
Had a nice chat with the manager, went over my past work, and then got into some behavioral questions. After that, there was a brief technical interview. The main part of the interview focused on my previous experience.
- Can you describe your experience with the technologies relevant to this role?
Software Engineer
Got to the first interview round for this role. They asked some technical questions and also inquired about my knowledge of current ESA missions. The interviewers seemed pretty chill, but they did mention receiving a lot of applications, so not getting the job was still a possibility. Ultimately, I didn't get hired.
- Can you discuss your experience with operating systems, given you applied for a role related to them?
- What do you know about current ESA missions?
Programmer
It was an automated video interview. You get a set amount of time to read and think about a question, and then you record your answer within a specified time limit.
- Could you tell me the color of the sun?
- What do you know regarding the mission?
- What problem happens when you encounter a "segmentation fault" error?
