Got contacted by a recruiter from a headhunting firm for a client via LinkedIn. Had an initial call with the recruiter to discuss my past experience and the details of the job opening. They also shared the salary range. The next step would be an interview with the company itself, involving both HR and the hiring manager.

First, HR checks your background, experience and how much you know about markets. Then, there's a technical test with questions about financial stuff, managing risks, and how to trade. After that, you'll get a case study, maybe to look at market trends or do a fake trade. Then, a behavioral interview to see how you make decisions, work with others, and handle pressure. Finally, you'll talk with some big bosses about where the market is going and if you'd fit into their strategy.

So the interview was with a private bank in Luxembourg and honestly, there were a lot of red flags. The HR person, the recruiter, just wasn't prepared at all. They even cut me off while I was describing myself to print out my CV. It felt like they didn't respect me; while the camera was on, they were making faces and talking to people walking by. A big issue was when they asked why the role was open, and the HR person just trashed the previous colleague's performance and work speed with serious accusations. Even worse, they brought up the nationality of the previous colleague, which is just racist. They said I'd get feedback within a week, but it took over a month to hear anything back. I could mention more, but I'll stop to keep the holiday spirit.

I applied for an entry-level software developer role at Eurobank, and the entire process lasted about a month. It involved a few different parts: various quizzes, several interviews (both one-on-one and panel style), and a team assessment. Overall, it was a pretty tough process. They really focused on soft skills, your personality, and how you think, though they did expect some technical knowledge, but nothing too advanced, like around a year of experience maximum. In summary, I thought it was a good experience because it gave candidates a clear idea of what the job entails and what to expect.
