Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Etisalat.
Service Manager
The interview process was professionally managed. It was a single round interview with a panel of the line manager and director, plus an HR representative. The questions were straightforward, starting with introducing yourself, then moving to technical questions, and finally HR questions.
- Could you please introduce yourself?
- Do you have any technical questions for us?
- Do you have any HR-related questions for us?
Senior Manager
It was a really slow recruitment process. I applied in December, had my first two interviews by the end of January. After that, there was silence for months. I was told they needed at least three candidates who passed both interviews before making a decision. Three months later, they got back with an offer that was frankly a joke, and they wouldn't negotiate, so I declined. Then, in June, they contacted me again, saying they were open to negotiation. After a lengthy process, I received an offer at the end of June and submitted all the necessary documents for the final government-approved contract. I waited two months for this 'government approval' which nobody in Etisalat HR seemed to know anything about. I even gave up commitments at my current job for this. It's now almost the end of August, and I've declined the offer due to the uncertainty of government approval and potential management restructuring. This company is extremely unreliable for career choices.
- The questions asked were very easy.
Manager
I had a phone interview with a panel of 3 people: a Sr. Manager, a Manager, and an HR person. Unfortunately, the panel was not diverse, consisting only of people of Asian (Indian) origin. The Sr. Manager and Manager didn't seem very knowledgeable about basic Finance concepts and were stuck on their own ideas. One of them appeared disinterested from the beginning, maybe because I corrected them on a Finance concept. They sent a regret letter a week later with no specific feedback. My advice for management is to ensure a diverse workforce, especially for interview panels. Interviews are time-consuming for everyone, so they should be positive experiences.
- Can you give a one-minute summary of your work experience?
