Tax Associate
It wasn't hard to come by, but I wish I had some questions preloaded. They were friendly and professional, and the process was smooth with questions and easy to organize what you should do.
- What would you say is your greatest strength and how do you handle stress?
- Tell me about your greatest strength and how you deal with stress.
Associate Director
I applied and got an interview pretty quickly. They only offered me one interview slot. The person leading the panel was pretty rude during the interview and insisted I keep my camera on even though I was working overseas from a very rural environment and having connection issues. It felt like the group wasn't really listening to my answers but just going through the questions roboticly. They did not contact me at all after the interview but I would not have accepted an offer from them.
- How do you handle positive and negative criticism?
Director of Development
My interview experience with this organization was very disappointing and disorganized, leading me to decline their job offer. As other reviews suggest, HR is severely lacking. The process felt unprofessional, which was disheartening given the important nature of their work. The sole HR representative appeared to lack experience. I opted out because I anticipated significant disorganization and a lack of support as an employee. The benefits package was also subpar for a Director in the NGO sector, with combined vacation and sick days being particularly low. The salary offer was $30k below market, and HR even attempted to guilt me into accepting due to the organization's financial situation. Organizations in this critical field should be performing at their best, but my experience suggests this is not the case.
- What are your ideas for diversifying funding sources?
Project Officer
So this interview was quite a while back, it went on for almost 2 hours. They asked me questions about planning an event, not really about the job itself. Looking back, it might not have been the best fit for me, but at the time, it was what I needed.
- Could you plan an event?
- Were you able to work well under pressure?
