The interview process was quite straightforward with very standard, simple questions. The interviewers were friendly and kept the atmosphere very casual. They actually started chatting amongst themselves during the interview, which might have been because I wasn't performing well. It was mostly behavioral questions, and they followed a script, so no follow-up questions were asked.

The interview process had 2 stages and was quite easy and smooth. It started with an aptitude test, followed by a group selection event. The tasks in the group event were easy, including problem-solving tasks and other tasks like situation-based judgment tasks. There wasn't a formal one-on-one interview. Overall, it was a good, fairly easy, and smooth process.

Technical Presentation

I did a 1.5 hour trial where I had to try makeup on customers. I got the requirements 2 hours before and found out it was a trial. After a quick intro to the counter, the trial started with a focus on traffic stopping, but actually involved trying foundation and eventually all sorts of makeup on customers. It was quite stressful without prior makeup experience. The email said it would be 40 mins, and the manager confirmed that too. But it ended up being 1 hour and 40 minutes, unpaid, and I was ghosted afterwards, which was really disappointing. I wouldn't recommend it if you have other options.

I applied for sales associate at Macy's for Estee Lauder. I applied online and after a few days, they called me and we scheduled a phone interview which was after two or three days. It wasn't really a phone interview but she just wanted to talk with me for a bit. After a few questions, we scheduled the REAL phone interview which was after another few days. It was at 7 pm, evening hours, and the person who needed to call me was late. I prepared myself in the bedroom, my husband was with the baby in another room. I had snacks, information about the company and questions, and all other stuff. I was sooo nervous because she let me wait. Then she called me and it was 60 minutes long. It was very very intense, she told me that she will keep asking with no response and I just need to answer the questions. If I didn't answer fast enough she said, 'Ok, we will pass.' After those the longest 60 minutes in my life of intense questioning and answering I was ready for bed!! I was exhausted! That was a month ago and I didn't even receive an email or phone call that they picked someone else. So rude.
