Had a 30 min phone screen, but it was really impersonal. Like, I tried asking about the role and they just punted me to the hiring manager, acting like they knew nothing about the job or company they're hiring for. A week later, a generic rejection email showed up. Honestly, based on what I've heard, I think I dodged a bullet.

After being rejected from a prior role at the company, I reapplied for this position. The HR coordinator contacted me a week later, and we had a phone interview. About a week after that, I had a virtual interview with her and a social team member. On the same day, I was given an assessment to test my skills, which involved creating mock IG stories, a week-long content calendar, and drafting responses. It took me a few hours to finish, as content calendars require careful thought. I submitted my assessment two days after the virtual interview and was rejected the following week. The feedback mentioned a need for more design creativity in stories and posts. I had studied their current social media content and mimicked their style, as their posts and stories don't heavily feature design. I felt that social media professionals aren't designers. I'll take the feedback and appreciated the interviews, but I'm unsure about their expectations.

This was one of the most thorough and thoughtful interview experiences I've ever been through. It began with a quick phone screen followed by interviews with HR and the hiring manager and a final round of interviews that included testing and a pre-work exercise. It may sound like a lot, but again I appreciate how thorough and dedicated they are to finding the candidate with not only the right skills but a fit for the company culture. While I'm disappointed to not receive a job offer, the kindness and sincerity with which I was treated actually helped to soften the blow of the rejection phone call. This may have been the first time that I received a phone call rather than a standard "we decided to go another direction..." email. Everyone I communicated with was prompt and clear in their messaging - whether via email or phone.

I applied on LinkedIn and got a call right away. This led to more than 4 in-person interviews, all of which were recorded. I interviewed for a week, and the questions were constantly about "culture" rather than work experience. I had to take 3 online tests. I couldn't get a clear answer about what they were looking for in a candidate for this role, they just kept saying someone who could fit the company culture. I received an email saying they chose someone else, but the job posting is still up. It was a waste of time, and I'm glad I didn't get the job after hearing bad reviews about the company.
