First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Essar Steel.
Manager, Senior
The interview panel made me feel really comfortable. It was a smooth and well-oriented process, focused on what they were looking for in a candidate for the job profile. They were keen on understanding my hands-on experience and my deep knowledge of the market and important people in it.
- Tell me about your previous work experience.
- Can you describe your hands-on experience?
- What do you know about the market?
Assistant Manager
The interview process involved a written test, a group discussion (GD) with 7 participants and interesting topics, followed by a personal interview with 3 interviewers. The process was well-managed, and I was selected along with some friends. However, I'm concerned about potential rejections for myself and a female friend, as joining letters were only issued to male students.
- Can you tell us about your family?
- Can you discuss your project?
Lean Production Manager
The interview process felt excessively long. It started with an HR contact who initiated a discussion lasting about an hour. Following that, the plant head conducted a Skype interview that spanned nearly two hours. Subsequently, I was invited for a personal interview. This final stage involved a panel comprising one HR officer, one Plant head, one Operations head, and one Vice president.
- In what ways can your skills address our shop floor challenges?
Graduate Engineer Trainee
It started with a written test covering general aptitude and technical questions. After that, we had a group discussion round. The topics for the GD were: 1) The Supreme Court's ruling on playing the National Anthem in movie theaters, 2) E-learning versus classroom learning, and 3) Demonetization.
- Can you introduce yourself?
