First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Essar.
Graduate Technology
I had a preliminary technical interview where I was asked about a PFD and some pump curves. Then there was an assessment day that was more about team building and communication skills than technical aspects.
- Can you explain this PFD to me?
Accountant
Application by form, then result verification, followed by a demo class. After that, there was an online meeting and a visit to the company to discuss working hours and timetable. The final stages involved checking experience and the journey.
- Can you describe your understanding of the job title and how it relates to management segmentation?
Graduate Engineer Trainee
First, there was a technical and aptitude test. After they shortlisted candidates, HR and the General Manager emailed me. I sent them my resume, and then my interview date was set. Later, I had an interview with a panel which included a technical expert, the GM, and HR. They told us the results a few days after.
- Can you tell me about your project on making an electric vehicle (EV) bike?
- What are controlled inverters?
- What is your knowledge in instrumentation engineering?
Assistant Manager
It was a very hard interview process with multiple rounds. They really check for loyalty and dedication. A stress interview could definitely be part of it. Overall, it was a decent experience, though it can be stressful for some. The HR team is supportive, but the whole experience really depends on the specific team you're applying to, as the finance team is quite different from the branding team, for instance.
- Tell me about your long-term goals.
