First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at ESA.
Administrator
I had one interview online via Teams with three people from the same department. They took turns asking questions during the 30-minute chat. It was pretty relaxed and friendly, and I got to ask questions at the end.
- What feedback would your current manager give about you?
Mechanical Designer
Colloquio motivazionale in cui chiedevano il mio percorso formativo domande sul reparto in cui mi piacerebbe lavorare inoltre a fine colloquio mi hanno fatto delle domande sulla padronanza dell'inglese e le competenze tecniche
- In which department would you like to work?
- How do you work in a group?
- What is your command of English?
Propulsion Intern
It was an online interview about technical stuff. It was about 40 minutes long and there were 4 people interviewing me. It was a bit confusing because I couldn't see their faces or hear the questions properly. I heard back after a month, so the whole process takes a really long time.
- Could you tell me about the technical aspects of liquid propulsion?
Trainee
I had a video interview with 6 automatic questions. These questions covered both personal aspects and position-specific details. I was given 2 to 6 minutes to answer each question, with a minute to prepare. Initially, I was asked about a past challenge, my motivations for this YGT role, and my relevant skills and experience. Then, there were three questions about the European Space Agency and the Space Transportation European ecosystem. Finally, I had some time to add any extra information or comments.
