First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Equus Workforce Solutions.
Business Solutions Consultant
Had a chill zoom meeting first. Then a phone call and some emails confirmed the offer. The questions were typical, focusing on personality, how well you can track leads on your own, and your people skills since the job needs someone who takes initiative.
- Can you share your top three characteristics or skills?
- What are your top three characteristics?
- What are your top three skills?
Learning and Development Partner
The phone interview was easy to set up and get through. But the downside was not being able to contact anyone for follow-up, as everything was handled through anonymous scheduling and communication. I was initially told I'd get feedback on next steps within 2-5 business days, or if I wouldn't be moving forward. I ended up hearing nothing for over two weeks. Since there was no way to follow up, I just assumed I wasn't selected. Eventually, I got a mass email saying I wasn't considered further. It's not a huge deal, but I'm not sure why they mentioned a few days when it actually took weeks.
- Can you discuss your experience relevant to this role?
- What are your capabilities as a trainer?
- What are your current responsibilities and activities in your job?
Talent Engagement
I had a good virtual interview and then they asked me to come in the next day for a face to face. The in person interview was not good. One lady called me out for being reserved and said they want someone bubbly because the job requires giving presentations. It felt insulting and rude. They said they'd reach out in the next week, but they never did. They knew I was on my lunch break and thanked me for making time. They didn't even send a rejection email. Unprofessional.

Program Manager
I think this was probably one of the worst and most unprofessional interview experiences I've ever had. The hiring manager called me super late at night, the same day I applied, and was really pushing to have a formal interview ASAP. Then, for two weeks, it was just a scheduling nightmare with constant postponements before they just stopped responding. I then went through another interview process with a different EQUUS program, and the HR person I dealt with was also incredibly unprofessional. They offered me the job but then ghosted me. They never picked up my calls or returned my voicemails about accepting the offer. After that, they apparently lied to the Program Manager about my interest, which led to the offer being rescinded. I found out later that this person is actually the HR Director, which says a lot.
- Could you tell me about your experience in this field?
