Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Equinix.
Manager
We talked about where the company is going and what our goals are. We had some casual chats about my background and experiences. I also told them a bit about myself. We explored potential opportunities within the company. We also touched on the possibility of moving and if remote work is something that could happen.
- What technical questions do you have for me?
- Can you ask me questions about my past work?
Senior Manager
The interview process was quite strange. I applied online and heard back about a month later. The talent coordinator called on a Monday and wanted me to come in for an in-person interview the very next day, which I did. I have over 17 years of experience and thought I did well. They mentioned they'd move quickly, but then there was silence for 7 weeks after the interview. I sent follow-up emails to the hiring manager and talent coordinator with no response. Finally, at week 8, the talent coordinator responded saying they hired someone internally. Communication was definitely lacking. I'll probably avoid this company for now.
- Tell me about a situation you encountered.
- What experience do you have?
- Do you have any minor technical knowledge?
Senior Manager
It started with a friendly HR phone screening, and based on that, I got scheduled for a first round with the Director. The role was based in India. The interview went well, and I felt confident about the next steps. However, after a week, when I followed up via email, I received a message stating, 'Due to our change in Direction, we are moving in a different way.' This was quite upsetting, especially since the HR screening mentioned they were expanding in Bangalore, India. It makes me question their hiring vision and expansion plans. They seem to be losing credibility in the recruitment market. Companies should only recruit when they have a firm decision about setting up in a location. Currently, they're connecting with candidates remotely, and some HRs in India don't seem to have a clear direction for the candidates they've contacted or interviewed. They just connect saying the next team will reach out. I feel this company lacks professionalism and a clear vision before hiring. I wonder what the company culture would be like after joining. I'd give such a company very poor ratings, even if they're a market leader in some areas.
- Could you tell me what you know about our company?
