Systems Engineer
Heads up, this company is always hiring for the same (Senior) Systems Engineer roles for a reason. First up was a phone chat with the VP of Operations, which was basically a technical self-assessment on tech. They brought up working 40 hours a week plus time for certs. Then, an in-person interview with a Project Manager to go over all the tech stuff you know. The questions were pretty basic. When I asked about hours, they said 40-50 a week plus studying for certs on your own time. He personally works so much he doesn't even know because he loves it there. The third interview was in person with the owner. He mentioned 37+ billable hours a week, meaning you'll be working 50+ hours consistently at client sites. My cert count was looked down upon and the goal is to get some tough certs within a year. The owner's ex-Marine and runs the company like that.

- Can you tell me the name of the Powershell script used in Exchange migrations?
Systems Engineer
I had a phone interview with the talent coordinator first, who was upfront and seemed like a gatekeeper. Then, I spoke with the owner for the second interview, which gave me a good sense of whether I'd fit in. It's important to be yourself and be honest. The third interview was with the CTO. This one was tough because he really knows his stuff, and you have to be ready to go deep on anything from your resume. If you seem unsure, he'll probe more to see what you know. It was a difficult but fair interview, and actually fun if you like a challenge. It helped me prepare for future technical interviews.
- Can you explain the seven layers of the OSI model?
Systems Administrator
We started with a Phone call interview where I was asked general questions about my background and experience. They also went into detail about the job and expectations. They specifically asked about my educational background and professional certifications. Then there was a second interview in person at their main office, which was more technical.
- Could you introduce yourself?
- Can you tell me about your background and experience?
- Please share details about your education and professional certifications.
