First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Equal Experts.
Delivery Lead
The first meeting was good. They asked me about my past jobs, what I'm qualified for, and what I'm looking for in a new role. The second interview dove into the technical side of my software delivery experience. We talked about things like agile methods, managing stakeholders, and handling risks. The third interview was about seeing if I'd fit with the company culture and their clients. It was more relaxed, and we chatted about my hobbies and interests outside of work. Even though the interviews were varied, I felt confident in my answers and how I presented myself.
- Can you describe your approach to developing high-quality software?
Delivery Lead
Terrible assessment interview process. It took a long time to find a date after several were offered. The assessor didn't even bother reading my CV beforehand. This felt like an insult given I spent hours preparing. When I tried to discuss my experience and what I could offer, there was no interest. The decision was made solely based on an assessment for a single piece of work. I have 25 years of delivery experience and all the necessary skills and qualifications, but none of that was considered. I had spent two years working with EE and was encouraged by EE staff to apply. The assessment process felt like the old PM interviews for new staff. They scored me 3 out of 5, so I suggested EE stop wasting my time. It turned out the assessors had less experience than me. It was so bad it's funny.
- Could you please state your name?
Delivery Lead
I interviewed for an Associate Delivery Lead role, which is basically like a trusted independent consultant. I've been self-employed for 15 years, so I was actually pretty impressed with how thorough E's interview process was because usually, most consultancies just throw you into roles without much prep, after like a quick 1 or 2 stage process. This was a 3 stage process, and it included a scenario-based test/presentation and a call with the CEO.
- Please present your approach to managing the given engagement scenario, including any clarifying questions you would ask.
